phaywoodHaywood Barnes & wife Elaine

I have been married 45 years to my amazing and beautiful wife Elaine who has been a true helpmate in my journey to fulfill God’s calling for my life. “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:16-17).’’ I have a passion for mentoring men from the cradle through their elite years. God ordained men to lead and I am committed to working as a humble instrument to help equip and encourage them to fulfill God’s destiny for their lives in their community, in the church but most importantly, as the head of their home. I believe that one of the most important responsibilities a man has is to love his wife and family as God so loved the church.

jeniseJenise Clark (Senior Pastor’s wife)
Media Director

When I was a child, the very first scriptures I ever learned was Phil. 4:4 which says, “Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice.” To date, this verse is still one of my favorites. In fact, when I think about rejoicing, nothing brings me greater joy than to see people make the connection of how important a meaningful relationship with Jesus really is. Serving on staff at CCNN as the Media Director gives me the opportunity to help people make that connection visually through my graphic design work. Graphics Design allows me to communicate with the church body by bringing the words of Pastor Tony to life via graphics. In addition to being on staff, I also get to sing and rejoice with CCNN’s Praise Team, which in my opinion is the BEST Praise Team in the world!

Small Groups & Reaching Around Pastor

My mom has called me an encourager most of my life like Barnabas found in Acts 4:36. The Apostles called him, “Son of Encouragement,” because he was a man passionate about seeing others grow in the grace of God. Like Barnabas, as the Reaching Around Pastor, I am passionate about encouraging the body of Christ at CCNN by doing life together. We do this in Small Groups where we grow spiritually, have accountability, and establish relationships with other believers... You will always hear me say, “God did not intend for us to do life alone.” My wife Tonnetta and I served in the Air Force for over 20 years and witnessed church growth like Acts 2:46-47, where believers’ just plain shared life together in teaching, prayer, fellowship, worship and service…And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Children’s Ministry Director

Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do in word and deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” I Thank God every day for calling me to be the Children’s Ministry Director at CCNN. This position allows me to love on the children the Lord has blessed us with, while teaching them through words and actions, what it means to live our lives for God! How blessed I am to do what I love.

michaelMichael Banks & wife Mata
Reaching Up & Worship Pastor

I am affectionately known as Music Mike for obvious reasons. As Worship Leader and overseer of CCNN’s prayer ministries, I heavily depend on God through my favorite verse, Proverbs 3: 5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” My wife, Mata, and I are honored to serve God and the people of Calvary Chapel Newport News.

michelleMichelle Carroll & husband Lou
Finance Assistant

I bring my love for detail, problem solving, and keeping an eye on the bottom-line to my role as Finance Assistant. And as the 1st Impressions Ministry Leader, I seek to be an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) as I welcome all those who come through the doors of CCNN. I desire to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects… (Colossians 1:10)” not only in my job, but most importantly, as the wife to my high school sweetheart, Lou.

reggieReggie Mason & wife Sandy
Executive Pastor

As the Director of Operations, I ensure that the business affairs of the church, including the supervision of support staff and the appropriation of allocated resources, enhance and enable the effectiveness of ministry here at CCNN. My wife, Sandra, and I have been married for over 26 years.

sandySandy Gonzalez
Executive Secretary & Administration

I am the Executive Assistant here at CCNN. I love supporting the Pastors and I have a heart for the women of God. I know that God called me to serve his women and love on them with all the love he has given me. I have learned to be content in His Love; and when I see a sister that is hurting, confused, or not certain of her purpose, I just want to teach her to become captivated by the LOVE of GOD and allow his Word to saturate her mind, heart and soul. I want her to learn how to bathe herself in Him and see that HE alone is LOVE.

sherrieSherrie Turner
Finance & Human Resources Director

They lovingly call me the “warden” in jest and I proudly take on that moniker. I purpose to “Let all things be done decently and in order (I Cor. 14:40),” according to God’s word. As a Human Resources professional, I endeavor to be a strategic change agent to empower our staff in ministry. The finances of the church are an integral part of executing CCNN’s vision and I am committed to managing the accounting process with integrity, diligence and accuracy in order to respect our contributors, support sound fiscal stewardship of our funds and bring honor and glory to God. For fun, I love participating in athletic endeavors (Triathlons, Cycling, and Swimming), working with my Therapy dog, Cienna, and maintaining my reign as the Scrabble and Bananagrams queen.

marcellousMarcellous Register & Wife Caroyln

One of my favorite scriptures is Matthew 28:19-20, “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

From the moment I gave my life to the Lord, I have made it my purpose to reach out to the next generation, our youth, teaching them what it means to not only know God, but to follow hard after him. As an assistant Youth Pastor in Ignite Ministries, I have the pleasure of fulfilling this purpose by teaching and equipping our teens to engage their community, schools, and homes with the matchless name of Jesus and live out their faith. My Wife Carolyn also serves in Ignite, and we have two children. We love being able to live for a cause that not only has temporary, but also eternal value and reward.

Ed WEdward Williams
Facilities Director

I have always love the way the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside out. Our walk with him shows the fruit of our labor. God uses people, places and things to accomplish His will in spreading the Good News while keeping us humble in service for the Body of Christ. I'm reminded constantly of what Romans:23 says, "Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you."

shaSha' Simmons & husband Duke
Finance and HR Assistant>

I bring my love for God and a desire to please him by being a good steward over all duties that he has entrusted me. I consider it a privilege to use the talents, gifts, and skills that he has blessed me with to support our ministry leaders, staff of CCNN, Calvary Chapel Christian Academy staff and parents. Jeremiah 29:11 is my favorite verse, “ For I know the plans that I have for you….” In addition, I love how God’s plan for me with Duke my husband was better than anything I ever dreamed of.

TonyNTony Naotala & wife Shantell
Youth Pastor

Proverbs 3:5-6, has always been a friend and a verse that speaks life by providing guidance, direction, leadership, and most importantly love.  As the Youth Pastor of IGNITE Student Ministries, we provide an environment that tries to encompass all of these qualities by reaching our students where they’re at and coming along side them to build and foster their relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.  I have been involved with youth ministry for over 15 years from caring for toddlers in the children’s ministry all the way up to working with seniors in high school.  I have also been a youth and high school football coach for over 20 years and a US Naval Veteran with over 20 years of service.  I am married to my beautiful wife Shantell and together we have four children; Kalepo, Siena, Seth, & Koa. We have called CCNN home since 2005.

DAVID AMD ANITA BOWMAN revDavid Bowman & wife Anita
Pastoral Intern

Psalm 34:8 says “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” I can surely attest to the goodness of God and His trustworthiness.  From high school and college ministry to skits and poetry, I love to communicate the truth of Jesus Christ to those without hope.  In serving as Pastoral Intern and continuing my collegiate studies, I enjoy learning from the faithful men and women that He has placed around me.  My wife Anita and I have called CCNN our home since 2008.

FialaMichael Fiala & wife Anna Mae

“There is no greater joy in my life than to observe people flourishing in their relationship with God and man. As an Associate Pastor, here on staff at CCNN, my sole ministerial pursuit is to encourage and exhort believers, of all ages, to give the best of their lives in pursuing Jesus and the establishment of His Kingdom in their lives and in society. This godly training begins by fostering children to become friends and followers of Jesus by embracing His message and honoring His personhood. In doing so, the privilege of helping children and their families grow “in the grace and knowledge of Jesus” is the hallmark of the ministry the Lord has given to me at this time. To this end, I invest my life!”

OConnorsJim O'Connor & wife Pam
Pastor, Facility Director Eustis Campus

It is my great pleasure to serve here at CCNN! I have had the privilege over the years to both pastor a church, and develop skills as a facility caretaker in separate roles. The Lord has seen fit to marry both experiences into one position. As the facility director at our Eustis Campus, I get the privilege of being the doorkeeper in the house of the Lord, as well as having opportunity to teach and invest in the lives of those who call this their home church. Pam and I are extremely grateful to you for allowing us to serve here at CCNN. Psalm 27:4 comes to mind, “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and inquire in His temple”. What a blessing. Thank you.
